For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith
Romans 12:3
According to the scripture above, we realize that God has given every man a certain measure of faith to be able to believe and trust Him, but God expects us to grow and increase in this measure of our faith. Without faith in God, no one can ever be saved. We are saved by grace through our faith in God. Although salvation is a gift from God, so is faith. We do not grow in salvation, but we grow in faith and grace.
Ephesians 2:8: For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
To grow in faith comes by
- Feeding on God’s word every day
- Putting our faith to work daily.
The more we hear the word of God, believing it and putting to work, our faith will also be building up and growing according to Romans 10:17: So, then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
